Activity 4: Multiple Perspective

In this activity we had to observe, discuss and discover multiple perspectives in a given situation. We had to understand the participants involved, with respect to a setting and their diverse interests at hand.

Stakeholders are those people, groups or individuals who are involved in the transaction of some kind and are affected directly or indirectly by it. They maybe someone who is the head of an organisation, to the man on the street who may experience the effects of what you set out to do.

MAIN ACTIVITY

This was the situation that was assigned to our group for the main activity.

Our group then followed the process of stakeholder mapping in which we laid out all the stakeholders that we could see in the given situation, then we selected a stakeholder from that picture in order to write the problems that the stakeholder might face and giving a solution for the same.

REFLECTION

  1. Stakeholder mapping helps discover potential solutions to the given problem or scenario as you get a visual representation of all the people who can influence your project and how they are connected to your project.

  2. I think that when a designer is designing something, it is very important for the designer to know the people that are connected to his/her project because the stakeholders have the power to either make or break a project and therefore stakeholder mapping serves as a great reference for a design solution.

  3. The spread of our map was quite vast and it had been organised in a manner which made it easy for others to understand the connections that we had made.

  4. Further, the layout of the presentation as a whole was appreciated by others. The idea of putting our names beside the chosen stakeholder and then listing out the solutions of the given problem below, was an organised way of presenting our work.

  5. Group functioning was very smooth, the time management was planned out well and this is also the reason behind why we were able to complete our task before time.

LEARNING MANTRA OF THE DAY :

Think beyond the situation.
